9 Months Old!
Happy Easter! We can't believe the girls are already 9 months old! Where has the time gone? This month the Easter Bunny came to visit the girls and left them lots of stuffed animals and clothes! They were disappointed not to see any candy in their baskets but we told them maybe next year! Annika and Mia got to meet their cousins for the very first time this past weekend. Meg's sister Marsha brought her kids over and everyone played with the girls and had a great time. The girls have now started on stage 2 foods this past month and we are feeding them 4-6 times a day in addition to their bottles. Little piggies!
At our last Dr. appt, he had mentioned that he wanted to see more protein in their diets in order for the girls to utilize their calories more efficiently so we have increased the amount of meat in their diet. They seem to really enjoy turkey especially! Mia weighed 11 lbs 4 oz and Annika weighed 13 lbs 1 oz. Mia was still gaining weight according to the growth chart but Ani had levelled off. Probably because she was doing so much more physically and thus using up more calories. We hope that by feeding them more solids more frequently we will see a larger weight gain on both girls next month. We celebrated the first day of spring with Annika saying "mama" she hasn't said it again but it thrilled Meg to no end. Mia also started pre-babbling noises and now enjoys making raspberries while she eats! Whoever feeds her usually ends up having to change their shirt. Mia is also mastering playing with her feet, she hasn't quite got the feet into her mouth yet like Ani but she is almost there. Annika is also starting to throw her toys, and then look for them. She enjoys standing at her exersaucer and bending over to try and pick up toys on the floor. We are hoping RSV season will be over soon so we can start taking the girls out and about to visit people. Meg has been taking them to Spring Lake almost on a daily basis for a good 45 minute walk. That's it for this month, talk to you next month!
